#PowerBlocToday: The House Committee on Energy held the initial deliberation on House Bill No. 8786, "Providing for the National Policy and Framework for Energy Advocacy through the Creation Energy Counsel Office" earlier today, March 2.

Assistant Minority Leader Sergio Dagooc of APEC Party-List delivered the sponsorship speech for HB No. 8786 during the Energy Committee Meeting on behalf of the #PowerBloc Representatives, PHILRECA Representative Presley De Jesus, RECOBODA Representative Godofredo Guya, and Ako Padayon Pilipino Representative Adriano Ebcas.

The creation of the Energy Counsel Office seeks to represent solely the interest of end-users in rate-setting, rule-making, and other energy-related cases and proceedings before all government agencies including its judicial and quasi-judicial organs and shall be deemed as "The Champion of the End-User Consumers".
This measure fills the policy vacuum in consumer protection, and eventually balances the interest of all parties in the ever-important energy ecosystem.
